This Week's "World's Best Sweets of the Week"
...Raisin Bran!
This popular breakfast cereal which is coupled
with milk was originally made by the Skinner
Manufacturing Company in 1926. It combines
bran flakes with raisins.
However a court ruled
that other companies could use the name 'Raisin Bran'
because it was merely descriptive of the product,
allowing Kellog's to start using the name in 1942.
They are the leader in sales and brand recognition,
citing their 'Two Scoops' ad push.
