This Week's "World's Best Sweets of the Week"
goes to...
...The Moon
Pie!
This popular treat was introduced in 1970,
and it consists of two round Graham
crackers, with marshmallow filling in the center,
dipped in a flavored coating of either chocolate,
vanilla, banana, strawberry, salted caramel,
coconut, lemon, blueberry, and pumpkin spice.
The traditional pie is approximately 4 inches wide,
with the mini version half of that, and the
double-decker has a
third cookie and another
layer of marshmallow. A contest winner won a
100-year supply of Moon Pies during the company's
(Chattanooga Bakery, Inc.) centennial celebration!
